FA conveys PM’s message of solidarity and holds meeting with UAE Foreign Minister

Foreign Affairs Adviser to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Humaiun Kobir, on 01 April 2026evening called on Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, and handed over a personal letter from the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Tarique Rahman, addressed to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.

In the letter, the Prime Minister conveyed Bangladesh’s firm solidarity with the leadership, Government, and the brotherly people of the United Arab Emirates in the context of the ongoing conflict situation. He expressed deep concerns over the attacks, the loss of lives, injuries, and damage to property. The Prime Minister also conveyed his sincere appreciation for the continued support extended by the UAE Government in hosting a large number of Bangladeshi expatriates and for the measures taken to ensure their safety and well-being. He further reiterated Bangladesh’s readiness to extend any necessary support, should it be considered useful by the UAE authorities. Prime Minister also invited UAE President to visit Bangladesh.

During the meeting, the UAE Foreign Minister expressed his government's deep condolences on the killing of two Bangladeshi expatriates in attacks on UAE and reiterated their commitment for ensuing protections of people living in UAE irrespective of their nationalities. He also expressed his government's gratefulness for the solidarity and support of Bangladesh with UAE government and its people. The Foreign Affairs Adviser commended the restraint demonstrated by the UAE leadership and underscored the importance of resolving disputes through dialogue and diplomatic means. The discussion also covered the excellent state of bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the UAE, with both sides reaffirming their shared commitment to further strengthening cooperation across sectors of mutual interest.

The Foreign Affairs Adviser is currently undertaking a visit to several Gulf countries as the Special Envoy of the Prime Minister to convey his messages to the leadership and to further reinforce Bangladesh’s engagement with the region.
